Overview & Applications

The IMS-TCP232-410s is a dual-channel industrial Serial Device Server designed to interconnect legacy RS-232 and RS-485 serial instruments to Ethernet TCP/IP networks. It natively supports simultaneous and independent operation of its two physical ports with separate sockets: the RS-232 port (DB9 male with hardware RTS/CTS flow control) and the RS-485 port (3-pin screw terminal with 2 kV ESD protection) operate in parallel with baud rates up to 1,024,000 bps.

It integrates a bi-directional Modbus gateway (Modbus RTU on serial ⇄ Modbus TCP on port 502) with cyclic Modbus polling of field slaves and up to 8 simultaneous TCP clients in server mode. Housed in a compact, rugged industrial metal casing, it supports an extended 5–36 VDC power supply range and comes standard with a 35 mm DIN rail clip and wall-mount brackets for rapid installation in LV/MV substations and metering cubicles.
